The latest Tone Generation explores electronic compositions created using the British based EMS range of electronic synthesisers. As always Ian Helliwell has picked out some excellent recordings including some great archive material - of particular note is Tristram Cary introducing the EMS range on a promotional flexi disc.

The Tone Generation has evolved beyond its initial 10 part run for Resonance FM, and as we prepare to make episode 16 available there are plans for many more episodes and even a Tone Generation live show. I’ll keep you posted on the live show but for now get the latest episode here.

The Tone Generation series is now back online. Listeners who have been following the series for a while and are subscribed to the old podcast stream will need to re-subscribe to the new stream to continue getting the latest shows automatically. Having had nothing back from Odeo regarding the technical problems we’ve been having we have decided to move to a new hosting service. I am currently in the process of moving the series over to Blip.tv and over the next few days it should all be done. Be patient and you will be rewarded with a brand new episode! Programme 1 is now back up and the rest will follow shortly. I would suggest holding off subscribing to the current Odeo podcast feed until I post the link for the new Blip.tv one.

We are having further problems with our hosting service Odeo which means the first 8 Tone Generation shows are currently unavailable to download. Sorry if you have come to here to listen to the series and been disappointed but please be patient. You can still listen to shows 9 and onwards here.  More positive news is that the next installment of The Tone Generation,  ‘Electronic Music Authors’, is recorded and ready to upload - the only thing stopping me doing this is that I don’t want to upload whilst Odeo have technical problems. Lets hope they sort them out soon. Stay tuned for more news.

UPDATE - Odeo seem to have given up on any kind of customer support. After emailing them twice in the last 10 days I haven’t heard anything back from them. It looks like we will have to find and alternative hosting solution and migrate the series.
